7.3.2 Protocol Specific Training
The PIs of referring tertiary centres are ultimately responsible for ensuring sufficient protocol-specific training is completed. Protocol training will be completed by the DSI as the responsible individual for oversight listed on the study delegation log.
For protocols that are likely to enrol a large number of satellite patients, such as those for children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), the tertiary centre PIs may delegate POGO to administer the training and collect documentation of training completion on behalf of the tertiary centres.
Training for patients with more rare diagnoses may be completed “Just in Time” prior to patient care at the satellite to ensure the training is completed when most relevant to the DSI. Tertiary centre PIs are responsible to ensure this training is completed.
Documentation of training will be forwarded to the tertiary centres and kept in the study files.
Tertiary centre PIs will ensure that any study amendments are tracked and shared with Designated Satellite Investigator (DSI) in a timely fashion.
