Accessibility

POGO has policies and practices in place to ensure compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and has filed applicable Compliance Reports.

POGO is committed to:

  • Training all POGO agents (i.e., employees, Board of Directors, volunteers, students, etc.) on Ontario’s accessibility laws through its orientation process. Orientation is provided to each new agent at the commencement of their affiliation with POGO, and thereafter is notified of workplace accessibility updates.
  • To meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. When requested, POGO will provide information and communication materials in accessible formats or with communication supports. This includes publicly available information regarding POGO’s mission, vision and goals, programs, and emergency  information.

POGO will accommodate accessibility needs during recruitment, assessment, and the hiring process ensuring the individual’s privacy at all times. All job postings include POGO’s commitment to reduce 8barriers for applicants with disabilities when applying for a position.

Where required, an individualized accommodation plan will be made with POGO’s Human Resources staff to ensure their needs are met, as determined by the employee making the request.

When completing performance reviews and/or career development, POGO will consider the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities.

In the case of an emergency, POGO provides specific information when an accommodation is required i.e., fire alarm.

In concert with 480 University Avenue building management – Amexon Properties, POGO will meet the “Accessibility Standards for the Design of Public Spaces” guidelines when building or making major office modifications.

POGO commits to amending or removing any of its policies that do not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people living with disabilities. Such inquiry can be addressed to hr@pogo.ca to express concern or appreciation pertaining to the usefulness of this document and its practice.
