Workshop D: IT Innovations and the Future of Pediatric Oncology

Presentation Description:
Technology advances at such an intense pace that is often difficult to discern what the latest advances even are, let alone how they apply to the field of pediatric oncology. This workshop provided a broad overview of recent technological innovations that have applicability in the field of pediatric oncology and featured an in-depth look at two in particular: 1) Pain Squad™: A mobile app to assess and manage pain in youth with cancer; and 2) The EMÜD Universe: an interactive virtual computer environment, also a psychosocial intervention to help children living with cancer.
