Posted on February 1, 2013 by admin

Presentation Description:  Survival rates for childhood cancer have continued to improve.  Therefore, more attention is being placed on the functioning and quality of life of these survivors.  Numerous studies of childhood survivors suggest that they may face many challenges, including impaired body image and psychosexual difficulties.  These can have a significant impact on survivors’ quality of life and overall psychosexual well-being.  Some of these may influence self-esteem as well as current and future romantic relationships.  This presentation provided an overview of some of the issues related to body image and sexuality among childhood cancer survivors.

Speaker:

Sylvie Aubin, PhD
