Reimbursement Guidelines
POGO receives some funding from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to provide this educational opportunity, and is pleased to be able to cover the travel and accommodation costs for out-of-town attendees who are actively involved in the care of children receiving care in a satellite setting.
Reimbursement Maximums (per person) and Travel Coverage Descriptions by Centre
POGO will reimburse 100% of participants’ travel and accommodation costs*, to a specified maximum (per registrant) shown in the chart below. Maximums are different for each centre and were calculated based on the most affordable and reasonable travel arrangements available from each location, without the use of discounts or promotional codes.

*POGO unfortunately cannot provide reimbursement for meals/snacks while in transit.
* Porter Airlines is typically more cost efficient when free shuttle service to the venue is factored in. If cheaper flights can be secured through Air Canada that fall within the specified maximums they will also be covered.
* Mileage is reimbursed at $0.50 per kilometre.
Travel & Reimbursement Policies
- Participants are asked to make travel arrangements as early as possible in order to secure the most competitive rates.
- All travel arrangements must be pre-approved by POGO in order to be eligible for reimbursement. If you plan to request reimbursement following the event, please indicate this when filling out the event registration form.
- Original or scanned copies of receipts must be submitted to POGO following the event in order to qualify for reimbursement.
- Participants must cover their travel costs upfront (with the exception of hotel costs, which POGO will pay for upfront); reimbursement will take place following the event.
- POGO is only able to cover economy class transportation. Business class is not covered. For Via Rail travelers, only Escape category fares are covered.
- Hotel rooms will be shared. Please indicate your roommate preference at the time of registration. Participants who prefer not to share accommodations can claim 50% of a one night hotel stay (A one-night stay is $279.00 including taxes and fees).
Accommodation Information
POGO has reserved a block of rooms at the InterContinental Toronto Centre.
POGO will cover the cost of shared accommodations for attendees travelling from outside the GTA who meet the criteria outlined in the travel and accommodations reimbursement guidelines. If you require accommodations, please note this when you register (you will be prompted to do so). Reservations must be requested by 05-15-2023. If approved for accommodations coverage, POGO will make the booking on your behalf.
