September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (CCAM)

POGO and its partners across the province coordinate community events to raise awareness about childhood cancer and its impacts on the young patients, their families, and survivors. A school yard chalk drawing campaign, gold ribbon distribution, mayoral proclamations and fundraising events are just a few of the activities you can participate in.
We are proud to announce a flurry of activity this September to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 2011. Visit the site often; it will be updated as event details are confirmed.

2011 CCAM Chalk Campaign |

Throughout Ontario, schools will participate in POGO’s annual Chalk Campaign. Over 50 schools will spend a day in September writing messages of hope in chalk around their schools. This project will educate students and the community at large about childhood cancer and POGO’s work to support over 4,000 kids with cancer in Ontario. Chalk is generously donated by our friends at Crayola. There’s still time for your child’s school to enroll in the 2011 POGO Chalk Campaign. For more info, contact Christine Cleland at ccleland@pogo.ca In addition to these events, mayors from across the province will officially proclaim September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a great step to boost awareness of POGO in all Ontario communities. |
