The Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO) recognizes your right to privacy and pledges to protect it. As a result, we have prepared this privacy policy to let you know about the manner in which we collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage the personal information that you provide to POGO when using this website, making a donation or otherwise providing us with your personal information.

Collection and Use of Personal Information

We only collect personal information about you that you provide to us. This may include personal information that you provide:

in a survey;
when you visit or register with our website or participate in another feature of our website, such as a bulletin board;
in a guest book;
when you make a donation;
when you request information;
when providing information for event registration or ticket purchase
when providing information for a draw or other contest.

We use the personal information that you provide to answer questions that you submit, to send you information that you request or to process your donation. We may also use this information to contact you regarding POGO fundraising, unless you have indicated that you would prefer not to receive such information.

If you supply us with your mailing address on-line, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information about new programs and services or upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by calling us at the telephone numbers below or by writing to us at the address below. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will then remove your name from our confidential list.

When visiting our web site, our web server automatically logs (records) domain name and standard information about the operating system and web browser you are using, as provided by your web browser. This information is used for statistical purposes to help us manage our site, but it does not identify you in any way.

Disclosure of Personal Information

POGO does not trade, rent or sell your personal information to any third party.

However, in future, POGO may transfer your personal information to third party service providers acting on our behalf, such as mailing houses. Such third parties are contractually bound to protect the confidentiality of your personal information and are prohibited from using your personal information for purposes other than that for which it is provided.

Please note that POGO must provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by law. We may also disclose personal information required to assist us in collecting a debt owed by you.

POGO uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure the integrity and privacy of the personal and credit card information you provide when you make an online donation or register for an event.

We maintain records of all contributions to POGO but destroy credit card information once a donation or payment is processed. All information is kept confidential, stored in a secure location and accessible only by authorized staff.

Access and Correction

You may request access to the personal information that POGO has in its control or request that the personal information be corrected by contacting us at the address or telephone number provided below.

Withdrawing Consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time to the manner in which your personal information is collected, used or disclosed by contacting us as provided below. Please note, however, that such withdrawal may limit the services or products that POGO may provide to you.
