There is a wide range of community services available to families of children with cancer. These include ?friendly visiting? programs where volunteers visit families in their homes and at the hospital, homemaking services, nursing services and palliative care. Many agencies provide home support services to people who have recently been discharged from the hospital or who are being cared for in their own homes. Home services include friendly visiting by volunteers, and homemaking services that help with household tasks such as cleaning and cooking. They also include in-home nursing services and palliative care. Note: Local hospice groups can be found in the Glossary for your Geographic Region.
