The Cancer Information Service dedicates its staff and resources to providing the most accurate, current, and accessible source of cancer information (general information, support groups, websites etc.), by telephone, in Ontario. The CIS is a program of the Canadian Cancer Society.

Family Education
There is a great deal of information available about childhood cancer, and often, parents are keen to learn everything they can about the disease. A number of organizations provide education programs and produce materials that can help families understand what is happening to their child, and learn about treatment techniques, support services, etc.

| Referral: | Any source including self-referral. |
| Application: | No formal procedure. |
| Hours: | Mon to Fri; 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or leave a message and the CIS will call you during the next business day. |
| Location: | Family home, school, community, tertiary and community hospital. |
| Decision Time: | Immediate. |
