2011 POGO Multi-Disciplinary Symposium

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 15, 2011

General Information

Abstracts are encouraged in all areas related to care and control of malignant disease in children. Submissions may cover any aspect of childhood cancer care and control including research, innovative program delivery, data management, education and policy development.

All professional disciplines are encouraged to submit posters. Abstracts do not have to reflect the theme of the 2011 Multi-Disciplinary Symposium on Childhood Cancer.

POGO strongly promotes communication of research, program, policy and educational innovations and wishes all abstracts to succeed. The organization has therefore obtained the agreement of adjudicators of the abstracts that they will provide feedback, in addition to a standard accept/reject response IF IT IS SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED. Authors may, however, opt for a simple accept/reject response, i.e., without feedback.

NOTE: Authors who select the accept/reject with feedback alternative secure an option to revise and resubmit their abstract for reconsideration.

Abstracts must be submitted by Thursday, September 15, 2011. This deadline will be strictly adhered to.

Accepted abstracts will appear in the Abstract Booklet provided to all delegates at the Symposium.

Poster presenters must register for the Symposium.

Review Process

  1. All submitted abstracts will undergo a blind peer review.
Abstracts should be received in the POGO office no later than Thursday, September 15, 2011.
  2. In September 2011, the author named as correspondent will be notified of the reviewers’ recommendations regarding acceptance.

NOTE: Notification will be limited to accept/reject unless feedback is specifically requested. Authors who feel they would benefit from constructive feedback should clearly indicate their desire for such feedback at the time of submission.

  3. Revised abstracts should be received in the POGO office no later than Friday, October 7th, 2011.
  4. By Friday, October 14th, 2011, the author named for correspondence will be notified of the final decision of poster acceptance/non-acceptance.

Submission Process

All 2011 Abstract submissions must be submitted online.
