POGO AfterCare Implementation Task Force

In 2001, a Blueprint outlining POGO's Provincial Pediatric Oncology AfterCare Program was circulated for review and comment to the five Division Heads at the POGO partner hospitals and to participants in the AfterCare implementation planning and design process.

The document articulates a province-wide program which includes implementation of a system of clinics operating according to agreed surveillance protocols, and a central data repository. Together these components will ensure comprehensive care as well as research into outcomes of childhood cancer for adult and pediatric survivors. Survivors are encouraged to attend the AfterCare Clinics once each year.

The AfterCare Implementation Task Force meets regularly to facilitate the roll out of the clinics across Ontario , to identify issues and opportunities for improvement of the AfterCare clinic system, and to ensure survivors receive the care they require.
